Happy Holidays to everyone! I got some stuff for my birthday and Christmas (both fall in December), so I will talk a bit about the items here! There have been some videos posted about them, but I have not changed this website since I got the Quad. Anyhow here it goes!
1. iPhone 6S+ -The iPhone 6S+ is a huge step up from my old iPhone 5, a much larger screen, better camera, more RAM, and a better processor. But the most important thing, better battery life! As an Apple Watch owner, I saw my battery on my 5 deplete quite rapidly, even just 4 hours into my day, my phone would die. The other day, my flight was delayed, and using my 6S+ for practically 5 hours straight, I boarded the flight at 50% battery! 2. PowerMac G4 Cube -The PowerMac G4 Cube was a great surprise courtesy of my brother, it is a 450MHz Cube with 256MB RAM, and a 60GB HDD. I updated it to Leopard by putting the hard drive in my Quad and installing from there. I had to update the firmware to boot Leopard, as kernel panics occurred without the update. I have it on my desk, hooked up to a Samsung monitor. The Cube also came with an Apple Mouse, USB Hub, and a USB WiFi adapter. 3. PowerBook G4 Titanium -The PowerBook G4 Titanium was also unexpected, but a few hours before I unwrapped it, I saw a USPS box sitting on the bed in our guest room that had the address from Gresham, Oregon, which I knew was where the TiBook I was eyeing came from. It is a 500MHz TiBook, with 512MB RAM, and a 30GB HDD. It is in pristine condition, with no paint rub and only a few scratches on the lid. The Holiday season was quite nice to me this year! And I hope to get more videos out now! Channel has been a bit revamped, and I hope you have noticed the quality of videos improving! Hey guys, I just posted a new video today, go check it out in the videos section, or on YouTube! Thanks!
I went to one of my friends houses yesterday, and there was an old unused computer just sitting there, literally collection dust. The RAM happened to be PC2-4200 so I asked him if I could take it. I popped it in the Quad and.... BONG! It booted right up! the fans were going crazy so I dusted out the cooling system and set the processor settings to reduced. When I took off the G5 panel, the LCS had a 3 stickers that said Delphi(string of numbers) DVT (a few more numbers) I looked on eBay at LCSes for Quads, and none have DVT on them. A DVT unit is a unit designed for Apple testing, a Prototype!
So the cord and graphics card came today, I turned it on only to be greeted by 3 beeps. According to the Service Manual, "3 Flashes: No RAM banks passed memory testing." I immediately took out the RAM to see what may be wrong and just left the 2x 256mb sticks, and got 2 beeps, "2 Flashes: Incompatible RAM types are installed or RAM installed in wrong slots." When I only left the 2x 1GB sticks, there were 3 flashes again. So I think that it may be the RAM, but the slots themselves are a possibility. The 2x 256MB sticks are PC2-3200 and the 2x 1GB sticks are PC2-5300.
So this is my first post on this website, but anyhow, let's get to the topic of the post. I ordered a PowerMac G5 Quad, and it arrived damaged a week ago. I ordered the parts it needed, Graphics Card and a Power Cord, it basically came with nothing, but I found RAM along with a 1TB hard drive at my grandparents house. So be expecting a video soon!
